Wodonga Family History Society Inc. started life as the “Wodonga and Districts Group" of the GSV  (Genealogical Society of Victoria) in 1987.  In 1992 we became incorporated and proudly, our banner of Wodonga Family History Society Inc., was born.

The aim of the Society in the early days was to increase membership, create a register of local resources for members to use and build a reference library that supported genealogical research.

Home for the Society has moved from several places, such as school halls, church buildings and community facilities and, in 2003, Wodonga Library became our research hub and Felltimber Community Centre was an ideal location for monthly meetings, seminars and workshops. Now we are located in Hyphen-Wodonga Library Gallery, Hovell Street Wodonga.

Members of the Wodonga Family History Society Inc. are very active in collecting and indexing local information such as cemetery, school, and rate records, continually adding to the society’s valuable resources for future generations.

Wodonga Family History Society Inc. volunteers are able to assist the family historian find links to build their family trees in North East Victoria or further afield.
